El Dorado Veterans Stand Down 2022

(PLACERVILLE, CALIFORNIA) Aug 22, 2022 — Currently, there are 600+ unhoused and low-income veterans in El Dorado County. Due to financial, health, transportation or other issues, many do not have access or cannot afford basic services, such as food, rent, or basic medical and vision care.
In order to assist these brave men and women, who stood up for our country, El Dorado Veterans Resources (EDVR), will be hosting a two day El Dorado Veterans Stand Down (EDVSD), September 30th through October 1st, 2022.
A modern Stand Down is modeled after the Stand Down concept that was used during the Vietnam War. Exhausted combat troops were provided a safe environment to rest, recover, receive meals and medical attention, and enjoy some much-needed, friendly camaraderie. Similarly, our event will offer eligible veterans medical care, vision care, food, legal services, housing and employment assistance, pet care, clothing, coats, sleeping bags, camaraderie, and other services, all in a safe environment. All services will be provided free of charge to all veterans.
While some services are geared toward low income or unhoused veterans, EDVSD is also pleased to offer the opportunity to all veterans to enjoy time with other veterans over a hot meal and live music.

My name is Jossette Cramer (Lee-Yetter) and I am the owner and Head Concierge for Heaven Sent Concierge, a Personal Chef and a current cook volunteer for The Upper Room Dining Hall.
I saw the post on Facebook for the Veteran Stand Down and would love to participate in any way I can.
The list of services available is outstanding and I would be able to help with either cooking and/or serving meals, general hosting, light clean up, or any other activity as such.
Please let me know if both myself and my husband, Tim Cramer would be able to participate in any way with this event.
