(HAPPY VALLEY, CALIFORNIA) Aug 21, 2022 — First-hand Daily Recount of Fighting the CALDOR fire on his Ranch near Grizzly Flats by Retired South County Supervisor Ray Nutting.

“You laugh at the old man
But what you don’t see is the breed of man,
Who still stands strong…
When all you want to do is take his life and love away.
The big men in the big suits,
they want to put casinos out there on the IM land.
With their “endangered” ideas and left-wing talk,
they want the ranchers to pay the price.
So you can take their water and take their pride,
but the cowhands won’t back down without a fight…”

“One year ago today Chase had his Eagle Scout Court of Honor.

“It was on this day that the Caldor Fire started.

“We were told that the fire was small and under control. So on the 14th of August, 2021 we had a big crowd honoring Chase’s achievement of earning his Eagle Scout at the Davies Family Inn.

“Two days later my four boys and I were in for the fight to save the family ranch.

“Chase stood by his dad and brothers fighting fire to save the ranch.

“The 14th was a good day but we had no clue what was to follow.” – Ray Nutting.
