Auto Event NOT Welcome in South Lake Tahoe October 19-23

(PLACERVILLE, CALIFORNIA) Oct 18, 2022 — “A multiple-day automotive experience in South Lake: · LAKE2O 2022 OFFICIAL PRE-MEET! · While we are beyond excited for this years …”

With that being said, there will be zero-tolerance whatsoever for disruptive or disrespectful behavior. This includes, but is not limited to revving, burnouts, drifting, littering, racing, etc.

SLTPD Sgt. Doug Sentell said the residents didn’t appreciate their activities in 2020 and he passed on concerns to Lake 2o.

Sentell told them there will be plenty of law enforcement ready for the unconventional car show.

If you are seen or heard doing any of the following, you will promptly be asked to leave and your information will be given to authorities. If you notice anyone participating in such behavior, we encourage you all to please do the same.

Additional PD enforcement will be present. Let’s all do our part by holding each other accountable. If not for your safety, then for the sake of future automotive gatherings

Lake2o is NOT the time and Lake Tahoe is NOT the place for such behavior.

Please show your upmost respect to the area & community alike, AT ALL TIMES. Let’s give the car community a good name and promote the true meaning of Lake2o and why it was created in the first place: To create everlasting memories and friendships through a shared passion.

City of South Lake Tahoe City Manager: “The safety of our community is my highest priority. As the Lake2O event was recently announced to take place on October 19-23, residents and business owners understandably have shared concerns that promoters and participants of this event in 2020 failed to respect our community. While the promoters claim they are doing everything they can to ensure 2020 is not repeated, I want to make the City’s position very clear. The City of South Lake Tahoe does not condone, support, or authorize the Lake2O event within our jurisdiction. The City of South Lake Tahoe is not a good fit for or the appropriate venue for this type of event. As a matter of first amendment rights, however, the City cannot prevent the gathering of people or violate anyone’s constitutional rights in our process and response.”

  1. All I see in that video are young people doing exactly what I did as a young person (I’m 54 now). Cruising around, parking and checking out other cars (and girls) and not harming anyone. There may have been some bad actors in 2020 that did illegal things, but don’t paint the entire group with a broad brush. Why do “classic” cars and muscle cars get a pass when they are usually higher horsepower and older less-safe technology? I don’t see an entire joint task force assembled for the Good Sam Safe Ride meets/shows.

Bust the idiots doing illegal stuff, let the others have fun and spend their money to strengthen the shoulder season economy of the South lake.

    Just my 2 cents.
