(JACKSON, CALIFORNIA) Aug 31, 2022 — While addressing an enthusiastic audience of over 100 supporters, Sheriff candidate Ryan Gillaspie asked former candidate Patrick Weart to serve as his undersheriff if elected in November. Weart accepted and vowed to work in a “partnership for change” with Gillaspie to fix what is broken inside the Sheriff’s Office and institute a proven community oriented policing model. The Gillaspie/Weart “Partnership For Change” pact came Saturday during a campaign fundraising barbecue at Cazadd Cellars near Jackson. Weart and Gillaspie both have deep community roots, served on local city councils, coached youth sports, and worked together in the Amador County Sheriff’s Office for over twenty years.

“Patrick Weart and I have served together for over 20 years,” said Ryan Gillaspie, “we both recognize the need for our Sheriff’s Office to rebuild it’s lost trust with the community, restore departmental morale to stop hemorrhaging expensively trained personnel, and bring our emergency response planning into compliance with State regulations.”

“Can you folks think of anyone more qualified to help bring a community policing model to our Sheriff’s Office?” asked Gillaspie to great applause, “How about it Patrick? Will you serve as our undersheriff in a partnership for change?”

“YES! I will serve,” accepted Patrick Weart to additional applause, “throughout this campaign Ryan and I have been on the same page identifying the serious management problems in our Sheriff’s Office and how to best fix them”.

“You’re going to see Ryan and I work together, both committed to a partnership for positive change within our Sheriff’s Office,” pledged Weart to the excited audience.

No candidate received over 50% of the June Primary vote forcing a November General Election run-off between the top-two finishers. Gillaspie and Weart combined for 54.36% of the June Primary votes for Sheriff.

Gillaspie’ s growing endorsement list includes several watchdog organizations and community leaders including; Gun Owners of California, California Taxpayer Protection Committee, Gold Country Taxpayers Association, Senator Rico Oller (Ret.), Supervisors Brian Oneto and Jeff Brown, retired Judge David Richmond, former Police Chief Scott Morrison and past Sheriff’s Candidate Patrick Weart.

The election will be held by postal ballot October 10 through November 8 of 2022.
