Consumer Restaurant Review – Pho Tahoe

From Pho Tahoe: “Pho Tahoe is a Vietnamese Restaurant with a twist. It incorporates traditional Vietnamese and American cusine in a trendy sports bar atmosphere.”

My wife had this experience tonight at Pho Tahoe. Simply infuriating! It isn’t your customers problem you can’t figure out the timing and operation if your kitchen. Last time my food was extremely late and cold and they didn’t care one bit when I brought it to their attention. Beyond fed up and I am sure this “cook” would not want someone treating his wife and daughter in such a manner. Here is her experience today:

This evening my daughter and I decided to go out to dinner just the two of us and celebrate a recent accomplishment of hers. We ended up going to Pho Tahoe in Pollock. We had been there previously and did not have a great experience but some time had passed and I honestly believe in second chances plus I love spending my money in my community.

We ordered our food to include an appetizer of spring rolls to hold us over until our meal came because we were both pretty hungry. We chatted away with each other and it was intially very nice. Our food was brought out but we never received our appetizer. The waitress then stated that the cook was just starting to make our appetizer at which time I told her to cancel that item since we had our main dish we no longer needed the appetizer. The waitress looked a bit concerned stating that the cook had already begun making the dish. I again told her we no longer wanted it because we no longer had a need for an appetizer. The waitress rushed off to the kitchen and told the cook that we no longer wanted the item. The cook was clearly not happy about this and their conversation was heard clear as day in the dining room. The waitress returned to our table and asked if we just wanted to take the item to go. I told her no because I know that they do not travel well.

The waitress was clearly upset stating, “I’m going to have to pay for it out of my check”. She returned to the kitchen and I then heard the cook clearly irate yell “They are still going to pay for it!”. At this point the nice celebratory meal for my daughter became extremely uncomfortable for both of us. We sat silently picking at our food while listening to the cook rant. The waitress said “I will just pay for it”. We quickly finished our food, paid the bill and got out of there.

Never ever ever again. Pho Tahoe you will never get another penny from me and anytime someone asks for restaurant recommendations you will certainly not be putting your name out there. Anytime someone asks about your restaurant I will most definitely deter them and recommend something else.

So disappointed. – Jackie Todd

  1. Wow, great customer service. After that sign, this restaurant is off the list of places I wanted to try.

  2. SIR. “Owner of Pho Tahoe”:
How would YOU respond to someone if they belittled your wife, made your daughter feel uncomfortable and let you know how they felt?

Sir: If THEY told YOU to “Go kill yourself” how would you feel?? What would YOUR reaction be?
