Logging in the 1920-1940
(Guy Nixon)
PLACERVILLE, Calif. — This picture will help to explain that –For most folks–logging in the 1920-1940 was rather limited to trees not more than a few miles from the saw mill –roads being what they were or weren’t and logging trucks of that time –it was very difficult and time consuming to drive trucks loaded with logs very far.
Note –NO air in them tires–as a 4th grader Dad had me driving a T with those tires –sore butt after about 30 minutes driving on a dirt road–as I recall–Fun–but it sure beats you up.
