El Dorado County (Dec 13 2023) – In a strategic move to usher in a new era of leadership and innovation, El Dorado Transit proudly announces the appointment of two accomplished professionals to key managerial positions. Kristin Halverson steps into the role of Operations Manager, succeeding the retiring Scott Ousley, while Erik Bergren assumes the responsibilities of Planning and Marketing Manager, succeeding Brian James, who has been promoted to Executive Director.

Kristin, a proven asset to El Dorado Transit, brings a wealth of experience to her new role. Having served as a Transit Operations Supervisor since June 2019, she showcased exceptional leadership and dedication to the organization. Prior to that, Kristin served as a Dispatcher from 2017 to 2019, making significant contributions to the smooth functioning of day-to-day operations. Her commitment to improving efficiency and ensuring a seamless transit experience has been evident throughout her career.

Before joining Transit, Kristin contributed her skills to the Pioneer Union School District as a School Bus Driver. Additionally, she has experience as a small business owner, showcasing her diverse background. Kristin expressed her enthusiasm for her new role, stating,

“I am honored and thrilled to take on the role of Operations Manager. I look forward to working with our dedicated team to enhance the transit experience. Together, we will navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead with a focus on safety, sustainability, and customer satisfaction. I am excited about the journey ahead and committed to making a positive impact here at El Dorado Transit.”

Erik Bergren: Planning and Marketing Manager

Erik brings a wealth of marketing and communications experience to his position as the Planning and Marketing Manager. With over two decades of service at California Waterfowl, a regional nonprofit, Erik specialized in effective membership marketing, leveraging print, online resources, social media channels, and more. Notably, he played a crucial role in successfully transitioning fundraising and member communications to a virtual environment during the challenges of the Covid pandemic. Erik holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from California State University, Sacramento (1998).

Expressing his enthusiasm for the new role, Erik stated,

“I am honored to be the new Planning and Marketing Manager for El Dorado Transit. I look forward to expanding our marketing techniques and programs to serve our local communities and those that depend on reliable and safe public transit in their lives.”
