ANDERSON, Calif. — Two people were arrested by Anderson Police Department (APD) on Friday for drug possession and stolen property. Police say the suspects were in possession of more than 30 fake ID’s.
APD says that around 10 P.M. on Friday night, officers made a traffic stop on a white Dodge SUV for a traffic violation in the area of the TA Truck Stop at 19483 Knighton Road.
The driver of the SUV gave officers a fake name but was later identified as 44-year-old El Dorado County resident Richard Gomez. The passenger, who police say also provided a false name but was later identified as 35-year-old Auburn resident Amanda Yeager.
ADP says the license plate of the Dodge did not match the vehicle. K-9 Ivan was deployed and reportedly presented a positive alert for the presence of narcotics. Officers detained Gomez and Yeager and conducted a search of the Dodge.
In the Dodge, officers say they located suspected heroin and drug paraphernalia.
Officers also reportedly located numerous fraudulent documents to include:
- More than 30 fake ID’s
- Fake military ID’s
- Fraudulent checks
- Check making material
- Fake currency
- A replica firearm
- Numerous pieces of suspected stolen mail, social security cards and passports
Both Gomez and Yeager were arrested and booked into the Shasta County Jail for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Vehicle Registration Fraud, Identity Theft, Providing False Name and Possession of Stolen Property.
