PLACERVILLE, Calif. May 23, 2022 — Due to the predicted northerly winds and increased temperatures, the National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning through at least 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 25th.

The risk of a destructive fire is high.

Red Flag Warning

The NWS issues a Red Flag Warning, in conjunction with land management agencies, to alert people to an ongoing or expected critical fire weather pattern. Critical fire conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly.

• Stay aware of the weather and your surroundings.
• Be extremely careful with open flames.
• If you see smoke or fire, call 911 as soon as possible.
• Be ready to evacuate quickly if ordered or a fire threatens.
