Register Now for Prospective School Board Member Workshop

Dr. Ed Manansala, El Dorado County Superintendent of Schools, provides information regarding becoming a school board member. 

PLACERVILLE, Calif. May 23, 2022 — Voters will make many decisions on Election Day in November, including the selection of individuals to fill open seats on school boards throughout the County. The El Dorado County School Boards Association and the El Dorado County Office of Education (EDCOE) will host the Prospective School Board Member Workshop for those interested in serving our schools, students, and families. 

Learn about the roles and responsibilities of public-school boards and board members, the school budget cycle that drives so much of a board’s annual calendar, and basic information about running in the November 2022 election. Presented by Dr. Ed Manansala, County Superintendent of Schools, and Eric Stevens of Edwards, Stevens & Tucker LLP, topics will include:

  • Commitment and Expectations
  • Brown Act Overview
