(PLACERVILLE, CALIFORNIA) Aug 22, 2022 — At noon a residential fire on Ranch Camp road was responded to by Fire Prevention crews. Structure was fully involved and fire had extended to vegetation. Fire trucks staged at Mellowood Winery.

5 engines, 3 water tenders, and 2 hand crews. A lot of dozers were observed on the road headed to the fire area.

Aircraft were ordered: AA, 2 air tankers, and 1 copter. Wet line around fire, forward progress stopped.

The main fire was contained but spot fires forced a recommitment of air resources.

They did retardant drops and the copter dropped water.

By 1:00 a “Wet line around the spot fire”

About 1:30 T89 was released.

About 2:30 Smoke dissipating as copter dropped water and helped out the ground crews.

Soon after the Copter was released.
