Georgetown’s Unsung Heroes

The Food Dude

PLACERVILLE, California (InEDC) Dec 22, 2022 — Locals from the Divide make a difference for those that lost their homes during the Mosquito Fire!

On Saturday, December 10th a local community group called the Unsung Heroes held a dinner at the VFW Hall on Main Street in Georgetown.

This special event invited all that were affected by the Mosquito Fire for dinner and to receive funds raised by the Unsung Heroes and the community. Patrick from the Unsung Heroes and Georgetown Fire Chef Brown, address the survivors, family members and community neighbors with heart warming words and a video from the fundraiser.

The stormy evening provided warmth and good food to all that were able to attend. The Food Bank of El Dorado County provided all the ingredients for a delicious lasagna dinner which was prepared by the Unsung Heroes.

Food Bank Founder Mike Sproull, was honored and proud to provide each victim with a $250.00 gift card and reassured them more support will be coming soon. This is what local communities do for each other. They stand by their neighbors, helping each other and are there when called upon.

The Unsung Heroes and the Food Bank of El Dorado County will continue to support our neighbors that have been affected by the Mosquito Fire.
