Blackwood Canyon Campground Closed for the Season

U.S. Forest Service - Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit

(PLACERVILLE, CALIFORNIA) Oct 19, 2022 — Blackwood Canyon Campground closed for the season on Oct. 16, 2022. This closure is earlier than in previous years because USDA Forest Service concessionaire, Tahoe Recreation, is now managing the campground and closure dates will now be consistent with closure dates for other National Forest campgrounds at Lake Tahoe.

Please keep in mind, services such as water, restrooms, and trash collection are not available when the campground is closed. In addition, activities such as wood/charcoal fires and camping are no longer permitted after the closure date. The campground is scheduled to reopen in May 2023.

Blackwood Canyon Road (15N38) is scheduled to close on Nov. 15, 2022, and will reopen on June 1, 2023. These dates are subject to change due to conditions and weather.
