(PLACERVILLE, CALIFORNIA) Sept 12, 2022 — Bat Presentation by Corky Quirk at the El Dorado Fish and Wildlife Commission Meeting.

Learn about these animals and their importance as insect control. Inform others and help protect our natural world. Dispel misconceptions and save these highly valuable mammals with education and rescue.

Mounting a bat house on your property is the perfect way to help bats who are in need of a safe place to live while protecting your yard from pesky night-flying insects.

It is also a great way to get involved in bat conservation. Habitat loss is a major problem for bats, and putting up a bat house can give your local bats a safe and comfortable place to live.

Corky Quirk is the founder of Northern California Bats (www.norcalbats.org) of Sacramento Valley and Foothills, and the Program Coordinator of the Yolo Basin Foundation near Davis, CA. She works in the field of Environmental Education leading field trips in the Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area (an area managed by CDFW) and providing presentations about bats emphasizing their important environmental role. Corky is active with local wildlife rescue organizations in the rehabilitation of injured or orphaned bats.
