Rubicon Trail is Closed Due to Mosquito Fire

(PLACERVILLE, CALIFORNIA) Sept 10, 2022 — The Rubicon Trail is closed until further notice due to all emergency personnel responding to the Mosquito fire.

The western maintained section of the route is called the Wentworth Springs Road; it begins in Georgetown.

The Rubicon Trail constructed 1887 is a 22-mile-long route, part road and part 4×4 trail, located in the Sierra Nevada of the western United States, due west of Lake Tahoe and about 80 miles east of Sacramento.

The Rubicon Trail Foundation is a federally recognized, non-profit organization dedicated to the future health of the Rubicon Trail.
