56-year-old Raley’s CFO of El Dorado Hills Killed in Plane Crash

(PLACERVILLE, CALIFORNIA) Sept 6, 2022 — The two people killed in a plane crash near Galt on Sunday have now been identified by authorities.

Crews responded to the scene just after 9:15 a.m. near Christensen and Twin Cities road and found a small plane had crashed into an orchard.

Two people were on board the plane, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

Both Cosumnes Fire units and Sacramento County sheriff’s deputies responded. FAA and National Transportation Safety Board investigators also later responded.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office has since released the identity of the two men killed: 68-year-old Orangevale resident Richard Conte and 56-year-old El Dorado Hills resident Kenneth Mueller.

Mueller joined Raley’s in 1997 with an extensive background in financial and accounting operations. As CFO, Ken lead the financial services, payroll, real estate and information services departments in implementing strategic financial plans and managing core business systems and technology.  Mueller was the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Raley’s. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Exactly what caused the plane to crash is under investigation.
