(PLACERVILLE, CALIFORNIA) Aug 2, 2022 — El Dorado County’s Department of Transportation (DOT) is on schedule to complete the road closure work required for the north roadway realignment and open Mosquito Road on Tuesday, August 9, 2022. Intermittent lane closures are anticipated beginning August 9, 2022, and continuing through September 9, 2022, and will require reversing traffic controls and pilot vehicles along with advanced flaggers, construction signs, and changeable message boards. Various locations of Mosquito Road will utilize these traffic controls at various times and dates from Union Ridge Road to Rock Creek Road. Unless there is a public safety concern, traffic stops are intended to be five (5) minutes maximum and traffic will be released as soon as there is safe travel through the work zones. The public should anticipate delays, drive the posted speed limits, and anticipate slowdowns in work zones. The detour via Rock Creek Road continues to be an alternative for which motorists should also expect delays and allow extra time for travel.

The traffic controls are necessary to ensure motorist and worker safety during the project. The County’s Contractor will be scheduling large equipment and material deliveries along with construction of shoulder improvements on Mosquito Road as needed throughout the next several months. Reversing traffic controls will be utilized intermittently until safe passage is available. Full road closures will not be needed. The County sincerely appreciates the cooperation and patience of motorists who use this roadway, and we apologize for any inconvenience as a result of these closures.
