(PLACERVILLE, CALIFORNIA) July 30, 2022 — 3Strands Global Foundation recently announced the addition of Sherrod Patching, head of global technical account managers at GitLab, to its board of directors. Patching joins the board with a wealth of experience in customer experience, tech leadership, and strategy.

3SGF envisions a world free from human trafficking, the second largest criminal industry in the world, and hopes to achieve this through a broad range of prevention programs. To date, the foundation has reached more than 1 million people with its prevention work. This includes K-12 education, corporate awareness of trauma-informed practices and placement of survivors into sustainable jobs. Customer service expertise is paramount and 3Strands focus on prevention means it needs industry professionals to help lead the way.

Patching’s addition to the 3Strands Global Foundation Board of Directors is effective immediately.

3Strands Global Foundation was founded in response to an event that shook a small, tight-knit California community. A young girl was taken from El Dorado Hills and trafficked for eight days before she was recovered by law enforcement. This would later spark the creation of PROTECT prevention education, which has gone on to educate hundreds of thousands of students across the United States on how to stay safe from human trafficking.

The 3SGF team then recognized that there needed to be more resources available to survivors and those who face barriers to sustainable economic opportunities. With this in mind, 3SGF launched the Employ + Empower program, which has helped support and economically empower hundreds of individuals in multiple states.
