(PLACERVILLE, CALIFORNIA) July 22, 2022 — We placed our replacement Smokey Bear Fire Hazzard Severity sign into service today! The original sign was located on String Canyon Road on US Forest Service Property. It burned in the Caldor Fire. The replacement sign is located on String Canyon Road, just west of Evergreen Drive.

A huge thank you to property owner Bronte Lukanish and El Dorado County Department of Transportation for partnering with us on this project; David Robinson, Mel Kelley, and David Manske for helping with the frame fabrication and installation; and P&M signs for their excellent work in fabricating the sign.

We look forward to Smokey Bear serving the rebuilt community of Grizzly Flats for many years to come and keeping their residents informed on the current fire hazard severity level!”
