Diamond Village Apartment Project Gets Another Approval

PLACERVILLE, CALIFORNIA, June 4, 2022 — The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development awarded El Dorado County $1,498,000 in support of the Diamond Springs Village Apartments project.

The county will utilize the funding awarded through the Community Development Block Grant to acquire property for the affordable housing project.

The grant funding is awarded to local jurisdictions that have goals of providing affordable housing and infrastructure for community development.

The Diamond Springs Village Apartment project was approved by the planning commission in 2018 and is one of the affordable housing projects proposed for the area. The apartment complex would provide 81 affordable multifamily, workforce housing units at 6035 Service Drive off Black Rice Road.

Other affordable housing projects proposed for the area include the 382-unit Dorado Oaks on Faith Lane, the 149-unit El Dorado Senior Village on Koki Lane and 75-unit Piedmont Oaks north of Black Rice Road.
