PLACERVILLE, Calif. May 21, 2022 — Respected taxpayer advocate, retired Judge Steven Bailey announced today that he has received his third endorsement from respected Taxpayer Watchdog organizations for California State Senate in the newly created 4th Senate District. The first SD4 candidate to sign the Howard Jarvis “Stand Up For Taxpayers” pledge, Steve Bailey has now earned the endorsements of the California Taxpayer Protection Committee, Central Valley Taxpayers Association, and Gold Country Taxpayers Association

After practicing law in the private sector for 17 years, Judge Bailey was elected twice to the California Superior Court in El Dorado County where he served from 2009 to 2017.  Judge Bailey retired from the Superior Court Bench in 2017 to become the Republican Nominee for Attorney General winning 25 of California’s 58 counties including most of the Conservative leaning new 4th Senate District.

Prior to earning his law degree, Judge Bailey (Ret.) helped Governor Deukmejian root out government waste, fraud, and abuse while serving as the Deputy Director in the Office of Legislation of the California Department of Social Services and spotted wasteful spending in legislation as Chief of Staff for Senator John Briggs. Recently, Judge Bailey helped found the California Constitutional Rights Foundation to represent individuals and family businesses against abusive and over-reaching government agencies.

The newly drawn 4th Senate District includes all of Amador, Calaveras, El Dorado, Tuolumne, Mariposa, Alpine, Mono, Inyo, and portions of Stanislaus, Madera, Merced, Nevada, and Placer Counties.

The election will be held May 9 through June 7 of 2022
