Zero Tolerance at EDSO – Employee Brings Meth Into Jail – ARRESTED

PLACERVILLE, Calif. — On 5-10-2022, El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office Correctional Officer Anthony Horne arrived to work at the El Dorado County Jail in Placerville. Upon Horne’s arrival staff developed suspicion Horne may have been under the influence of a controlled substance. A driving under the influence investigation was conducted by EDSO deputies, and Horne was later arrested for driving under the influence of a drug, 23152(f) CVC. During an arrest search of Horne, deputies located suspected methamphetamine on his person.

Horne was booked into the El Dorado County Jail for driving under the influence of a drug, possession of a controlled substance, and bringing a controlled substance into a jail.

This investigation is ongoing and we have no further information to provide at this time.
