PLACERVILLE, Calif. — “Very informative day during the Caldor Fire tour today with the Amador-El Dorado Forest Forum. Thank you, Diane Dealey Neil & Robert Little, for putting this together. We must work together to bring back responsible forestry management in our county!” – Supervisor George Turnboo.

Media Release Event Announcement – The Amador-El Dorado Forest Forum will be leading a tour of the Omo Ranch and Sopiago Creek area for the forum’s annual field tour and picnic May 7.

The tour, led by Forest Forum President Robert Little and Co-Treasurer Rick Hopson, will examine various treatments on small acreage privately held parcels, industrial forestland and national forest, and will discuss how these treatments may have influenced fire behavior during the Caldor Fire.

The tour will start and end at Pioneer Park, 6740 Fairplay Road in Somerset, and a release form to enter private land will be provided and required. Participants will meet at 9 a.m. and arrange carpools, stop at five locations, then return to Pioneer Park at 12:30 for a picnic lunch. Burgers and drinks will be provided and everyone is asked to bring a side dish.

To RSVP contact Diane Dealey Neill at dianedealeyneill@gmail.com or (530) 417-1960 by Wednesday, May 4 at 5 p.m.
