PLACERVILLE, CALIF – Gun Owners of California Campaign Committee has announced their endorsement of retired Judge Steven Bailey for State Senate in the newly created 4th District. After practicing law in the private sector for 17 years, Judge Bailey was elected twice to the California Superior Court in El Dorado County where he served from 2009 to 2017.

“Judge Bailey is a proven leader who understands the importance of our Constitution, it’s Second Amendment, and the true intentions of our Founding Fathers”, explained Sam Paredes, Executive Director of Gun Owners of California. “GOCCC has worked with Judge Bailey for many years and we know firsthand of his character and commitment to the ideals of freedom and the community at large.”

Judge Bailey helped found the California Constitutional Rights Foundation, a non-profit civil rights organization dedicated to defending Constitutional freedom and liberty by representing victims of government abuse and over-reach.

Judge Bailey formally served as the Deputy Director in the Office of Legislation of the California Department of Social Services for Governor Deukmejian and as the Chief of Staff for Senator John Briggs.  He retired from the Superior Court in 2017 to become the Republican nominee for Attorney General and has now returned to private practice.

Gun Owners of California was founded by Senator H.L. Richardson in 1975.   Gun Owners of California Campaign Committee is the nation’s oldest political action committee dedicated to the defense of the Second Amendment and the restoration of freedom and liberty.
