El Dorado County (Dec 12 2023) – As the common saying goes, “it takes a village to raise a child!” El Dorado County Office of Education (EDCOE) Charter College and Career Prep (CCP) continues to support students through the whole-child approach. As the Community School for El Dorado County, CCP knows the importance of having the community actively integrated in students’ education. CCP pursues giving students the opportunity to understand learning concepts through community partnerships with real-world applications within El Dorado County. Recent highlights for students have been culinary students visiting Boa Vista during apple season. As well as Mikey’s Kilted Kitchen coming to campus to give a career talk and demonstration about owning a food truck business within El Dorado County.
CCP Principal, Maria Osborne, expresses her thoughts on recent community partnership learning opportunities this school year. “An important part of our mission is to prepare students to be active and engaged members of our community; this helps us accomplish that. Also, the more connections we make, the broader our influence in providing an educational alternative.”
When community and education come together, truly astonishing goals can be met for students and their futures. El Dorado County cares so deeply about the future of El Dorado County students, and CCP is truly honored to be part of the process.
