Diamond Springs, Calif. Cris Alarcon (November 13, 2023) – In an incident on Highway 49 at junction of Throwita Way, near Pleasant Valley Road, a driver faced a perilous situation resulting in their partial ejection from the vehicle. The California Highway Patrol swiftly responded, and the sole occupant of the vehicle was transported to the hospital with major injuries.
The unfortunate crash unfolded at approximately 6 p.m. on Monday night, with the driver bearing the brunt of the impact. The California Highway Patrol has confirmed that the driver was the sole person in this incident.
As emergency responders worked diligently at the scene, Highway 49, a crucial route in the area, was temporarily closed in both directions near Stymeist auto body. Hwy closure persisted for another hour or so as they could attend to the aftermath of the accident.
The cause of the crash remains shrouded in mystery, prompting an immediate investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
According to the CHP, a white GMC Sierra overturned after colliding with another vehicle. The driver of the overturned GMC was partially ejected and sustained major injuries.
The victim was transported by a ground ambulance to Dawsons Oil where they were airlifted to a hospital.
A Placerville man, identified as 62-year-old Mark Parsons, with major injuries, prompting emergency services to rush him to a local hospital via helicopter.
Medics on the scene assessed Parsons and determined the severity of his injuries, leading to the decision to airlift him to a local hospital for immediate medical attention. As of now, Parsons’s current condition remains unknown.
