El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office officials report that a recent article was released that may have caused confusion regarding the EDSO missing Greene investigation of missing person Sarah Liddicoat. The Sheriff’s Office is providing updated information as to the actions of the investigation.
On June 20, 2023, missing person Sarah Liddicoat was located deceased near her home on Breedlove Road. Liddicoat’s body was located at the bottom of a steep, heavily wooded area that was difficult to access and not visible from her home or the air. During the investigation, the Sheriff’s Office utilized multiple resources to assist in searching for Liddicoat.
Over 41 members of Sheriff’s Office personnel worked over 232 hours during the search for Liddicoat. These resources included Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies, detectives, Search and Rescue volunteers, canines, drones, EDSO motorcycles and a CHP helicopter. Liddicoat’s body was located on June 20 with the assistance of a Search and Rescue canine team. A specialized rope team was used to help recover Liddicoat’s body from the area.
The cause of death is under review pending the results of an autopsy and the investigation is still ongoing however at this time, the Sheriff’s Office has no information to suggest the death was the result of a criminal act.
