On July 7, a vegetation fire was reported in the Martis Valley area of Truckee. The Truckee Police Department issued mandatory evacuations for area residents. The fire was held at about a dozen acres.
That afternoon, Truckee Police announced a woman was in custody after admitting she had set several spot fires intentionally.
She faces felony charges of arson and resisting an officer, and battery, a misdemeanor.
According to a website for her business, in 2012 Walters received a degree in physiology from University of California Santa Barbara and is a certified personal trainer and yoga teacher. […]
