(PLACERVILLE, CALIFORNIA) July 13, 2022 — Shelli R. Ross, 53, a Placerville woman was killed Wednesday.  California Highway Patrol investigators say wasn’t wearing her seatbelt in a collision on Highway 49 near China Hill Road south of the town of El Dorado.

Ross was driving a 1996 Ford Explorer on Highway 49 shortly before 4 p.m.  Her vehicle was involved in a crash with a 2016 Volkswagen Jetta driven by an El Dorado woman. The Explorer overturned and ejected Ross, according to the CHP collision report.

Emergency personnel pronounced Ross dead at the scene.

CHP’s investigation into the incident is ongoing.
