(PLACERVILLE, CALIFORNIA) July 2, 2022 — Yesterday I headed to my old stomping grounds in Placerville to take a photo for my colleague Ben van der Meer. Fun fact: My first journalism job out of college was at the Mountain Democrat, which at the time had its office on Broadway in Placerville.

After getting the photo, I took a quick detour to revisit the sights and sounds of Placerville. During that trip, I was intrigued by HangTown Billiards, which recently opened at 1327 Broadway. The new business calls itself Placerville’s first billiards spot in more than 30 years. Expect pool tables, darts and more than 35 beer varieties, according to HangTown Billiards’ Facebook page.

I hope to check out the business soon and showcase the dart-throwing skills I acquired in college. In the meantime, I’ll leave you with my favorite “Ted Lasso” clip. Yes, darts are involved.
