(PLACERVILLE, CALIFORNIA) Oct 17, 2022 — Recently, a homeless individual from the Placerville area reached out to the EDSO Homeless Outreach Team (HOT). This person is well-known, not only to HOT but many local groups that work with the homeless, including The Upper Room, Housing El Dorado, and several faith-based organizations.

Over the years, this person has been struggling with homelessness and substance abuse addiction, which have gotten in the way of those trying to assist him out of homelessness. Over the past few months, this individual has made significant effort to get clean and today he has 60 days sober and is ready to turn his life around!

He has enrolled in a trade school in Sacramento County and needed some assistance finding housing. HOT has worked with various room-and-board facilities, both in and out of El Dorado County and we were able to secure a bed for him and provided a ride to the location. It’s days like this that make the collective efforts of those who work with homeless and addiction issues worthwhile
