On Monday evening, EDSO Dispatch received a 911 call regarding a possible homicide that occurred in the area of Mossy Oak trail in Placerville.

EDSO responded to the residence where we located a female subject who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Despite life-saving efforts the female was pronounced deceased at the scene. A person of interest was located a short time later on the property. Detectives began processing the scene along with interviewing the suspect and witnesses. Brandon Heckley was taken into custody without incident and booked into the El Dorado County Jail on a variety of charges to include first degree murder.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.
