Prosecutors with the El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office said Department 2 of the El Dorado County Superior Court was packed with victims, family members, jurors and law enforcement Tuesday to witness Aiello receive his sentence for crimes that occurred in El Dorado, Contra Costa and Nevada counties.

Prosecutors noted many in the courtroom were in tears as victims read impact statements.

Deputy district attorney Kassie Cardullo argued for the maximum sentence of 100 years to life plus four years and eight months and Judge Mark Ralphs agreed the maximum sentence was appropriate.

In a news release from the DA’s Office officials state, “We are beyond proud of your courage today and every day since Aiello violated your trust, your bodies and your sense of security. We are proud that you were able to speak your truth and face your abuser with dignity.”

Aiello, a 59-year-old resident of Pilot Hill, was convicted of 10 counts of child molestation and one count of kidnapping.
