You can join this wonderful cause by bringing new, unwrapped toys to the CHP office in Placerville by December 13th.

Where: CHP Placerville Office, located at 3031 Lo Hi Way, Placerville, CA 95667.

This drive also coincides with a significant milestone – the 75th anniversary of Toys for Tots, a program that has touched the lives of countless American families.

Toys for Tots: 75 Years of Making a Difference

Toys for Tots began in 1947 as the brainchild of Marine Corps Reserve Major Bill Hendricks. Actually it was his wife, Diane, who was the real inspiration. She had a few handcrafted dolls and asked Bill to deliver them to an agency that supports children in need. When Bill reported back to his wife that he could not find such an organization, she instructed him to “start one!”

Today, the Marine Toys for Tots Program continues to make a difference, distributing an average of 18 million toys to 7 million less fortunate children every year. It’s a testament to the enduring legacy of compassion and giving, where the generosity of individuals and organizations comes together to brighten the lives of children across the nation.
