POLLOCK PINES, Calif. (November 29, 2023) – In a move aimed at enhancing safety and infrastructure, El Dorado County’s Department of Transportation is set to commence tree removal operations along the south side of Pony Express Trail, stretching from Sanders Drive to Sly Park Road. The scheduled work is slated to kick off on December 4, 2023, with a tentative completion date of December 15, 2023, subject to weather conditions.
The tree removal initiative, an integral part of the forthcoming Pony Express Trail Bicycle, Pedestrian, and ADA Improvements Capital Improvement Project, will necessitate temporary lane and shoulder closures along the eastbound lane of Pony Express Trail. Traffic will be managed through flagging systems, in effect from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. starting Monday, December 4th, 2023.
Motorists navigating through this stretch are advised to plan for potential delays and factor in extra travel time to ensure timely arrival at their destinations. This proactive approach aims to minimize inconvenience for commuters while facilitating the seamless execution of the vital tree removal work.
For any inquiries related to the construction activities, concerned individuals can reach out to the County’s Transportation main line at (530) 621-5900, with the option to select Option 3 for Engineering assistance. The County encourages open communication and invites residents and road users to stay informed about this significant project.
As El Dorado County progresses toward its commitment to improved infrastructure, these temporary inconveniences are a necessary step toward safer, more accessible roadways for all.
