On Friday, November 17, the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office (EDSO) sprang into action following reports of a bomb threat targeting Providence Christian School in Shingle Springs. The threat, received via email at 7:56 am, triggered a rapid response from EDSO Deputies and School Resource Officers, who promptly evacuated all staff and students from the school.
Out of an abundance of caution, authorities initiated a systematic search of the campus to ensure the absence of any dangerous devices. It’s noteworthy that this bomb threat extended beyond Providence Christian School, reaching numerous email recipients. EDSO emphasized that all threats of this nature are treated with the utmost seriousness, and a thorough investigation was undertaken.
As of the latest update, the search of Providence Christian School concluded without finding anything suspicious or out of the ordinary. The school was released back to the staff, providing a sigh of relief for the concerned community.
In a concerning parallel, Tahoe Prep Academy in South Lake Tahoe also fell victim to the same email threat. EDSO Deputies deployed to the academy, ensuring the safety of all staff and students. Following a meticulous search confirming the safety of the premises, the school was released to its staff.
