(Jessica Trumble-Pitel, EDCOE)
El Dorado County Office of Education (EDCOE) Charter College and Career Prep (CCP) is excited to celebrate all recent and upcoming graduates, but wanted to highlight Abigail due to what she represents about setting goals for education, students, and our community at CCP. Abigail is 17 and from Diamond Springs, a high school graduate, an independent business owner, and soon to enter four-year university student in pursuit of Political Science, Spanish, and Sign Language.
Abigail has always enjoyed cooking, and when the pandemic shut down many aspects of life, she decided to start her own bakery business at age 16 through social media. She does all her own prep, cooking, and deliveries as well as all photography for her business Facebook, Instagram, and website.
Abigail has shared “starting my own business allowed me to pursue my passion, but to continue to develop my skills in communication, working with the community, reaching people, and money management. In my future endeavors, I want to reach as many people as possible and help serve. I feel running my own business has allowed me to continue to build myself for my future and community.”
CCP students experience personal success in an environment which values their individuality and prioritizes compassion, empathy, and integrity in order for them to act on their beliefs with understanding and courage, so they may enrich the communities in which they live. Abigail was able to have the flexibility, support, and competency to succeed at CCP and shows the wonderful future we have of young people from El Dorado County making an impact.
