Revelations about the secret Chinese-run lab in Fresno keep getting more disturbing. I am joining the Speaker’s call for an investigation by the Select Committee on China. Here’s what we know:
-The lab was run by Prestige Biotech Inc, whose owners live in China.
-The Newsom Administration awarded the company a $360,000 tax credit in 2019.
-The lab was operating without a license and was committing numerous code violations.
-Mice at the lab were “genetically engineered to catch and carry” COVID and other diseases.” Toxic chemicals, vials of blood, and other materials were also discovered.
-Fresno’s city manger said: “They were bad actors. They never came to the city and they moved in in the middle of the night. Those are pretty big elements that tell us they did not want us to know they were here.”
-The CDC told the Associated Press it “has taken no further action in this matter.”
