Hometown Holiday | November 24, 2023 | 4-7 pm

Start the holiday season off with a magical night in downtown Placerville! The Placerville community gathers each year, filling Main Street with family, friends, and neighbors to share the magical moment when we kick off the Holiday Season with the Christmas tree’s lighting. Shops are open late, restaurants are ready to serve you, and entertainment will be on the street. It is a very sweet and simple tradition we hold dear. Come early, parking can be a challenge, but it is so worth it!

When and Where: Mark Your Calendars!

This year’s enchanting parade is scheduled for Sunday, December 3rd, starting at 1 p.m. The streets of Placerville will come alive as the parade kicks off on Upper Broadway and meanders down Main Street, wending its way past the iconic Bell Tower and culminating at Sacramento Street.

Meet the Grand Marshal: Ed Hagen

Every parade needs a Grand Marshal to lead the way, and this year, it’s none other than Ed Hagen. With his dedication to the community, Ed is a fitting choice to guide the festivities and spread holiday joy to the crowd.

A Generous Gift to El Dorado County

The Hangtown Christmas Parade, an integral part of El Dorado County’s holiday traditions, receives a generous gift from Tim and Sue Taylor, continuing the cherished McIntire Family tradition. This gift embodies the spirit of giving during the holiday season. In keeping with tradition, the parade serves as a charitable endeavor benefiting Toys for Tots. Participants in the parade are asked to contribute to this heartwarming cause by bringing an unwrapped gift for Toys for Tots as their entry fee.
