EL DORADO HILLS, Calif. (November 25, 2023) – In a significant development, the El Dorado County Sheriff’s office has announced the arrest of a Stockton man linked to a spate of burglaries that have plagued the affluent Blackstone community in El Dorado Hills.
Over the past month, diligent detectives from the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office have tirelessly probed a string of burglaries within the well-known Blackstone community situated off Latrobe Road in El Dorado Hills, according to an official report from the agency.
Residents of the community played a crucial role in aiding the investigation, contributing valuable security footage and collaborating with deputies engaged in what was described as “proactive police work.” This cooperative effort ultimately led detectives to identify a person of interest. The suspect was tracked to Stanislaus County and was found to be on parole.
Executing a parole search last Friday in Stockton, detectives uncovered compelling evidence tying Marcus Anthony Wright of Stockton to the recent burglaries. The arrest followed the discovery of items during the out-of-area search. Wright now faces charges of felony burglary, along with prowling and parole violation. As of the latest update, he remains in custody with an escalated bail amount set at $665,000 since his arrest on Friday.
Detectives stress that the investigation remains ongoing, and they encourage residents with any additional information that may assist in the case to come forward. Leading the investigation, Detective Driscoll can be reached at 530-642-4709 or through email at driscollp@edso.org.
