“A committed Sexually Violent Predator may be released into El Dorado County, and we need our communities’ help! Please come to this important meeting on November 8th at 9am. The location of the meeting will be Dept 9, 3321 Cameron Park Dr. Cameron Park. The meeting is open to the public and your participation is strongly encouraged.”
Background:
In 1993, David Bergey was convicted of sex crimes involving two separate minor victims, resulting in an 8-year and 8-month prison sentence. After serving his term, he was classified as an SVP [Sexually Violent Predator] by the state of California in 1998. Consequently, instead of being released into the community, Bergey was admitted to the Department of State Hospitals for specialized treatment.
