A notable Apple Hill winery is on the market — and may be the first listing of its kind to become available in the area.
Fenton Herriott Vineyards, at 120 Jacquier Court in Placerville, is looking for a new owner. The 10.8-acre property is being listed for $2.3 million plus inventory, listing agent David Bolster said.
“To my knowledge, it’s the first estate winery in the Apple Hill area that’s come up for sale,” he said.
The winery was started by Guy Herriott. Its winery license dates back to 2003, according to state records.
Most of the other estate wineries that are part of the Apple Hill Growers Association are multi-generational family businesses.
“This is the first one that’s become available,” Bolster said.
