El Dorado Hills, CA – In a foamy wave of excitement, Moirae Brewing Company is preparing to make its mark on the craft beer landscape of El Dorado Hills. The family-owned brewery, led by the dynamic duo of Zach and Ariela Grinnell, is eagerly anticipating the acquisition of its federal license to commence commercial craft beer production, with hopes of tapping into the market as early as 2024.
The roots of Moirae Brewing trace back to 2012 when Zach Grinnell discovered his fervor for brewing after savoring the Jack D’or by Pretty Things Beer and Ale Project. Since then, the brewing power couple has garnered recognition and medals for their unique recipes, setting the stage for the opening of their very own brewery and taproom.
Currently navigating the regulatory landscape, Moirae Brewing is on track to secure its federal license at the dawn of the new year. Once granted, the brewery plans to unleash a diverse range of craft beers, spanning from American ales to Belgian brews. Zach Grinnell expressed optimism, stating, “In the beginning, we will start by distributing locally to bars and restaurants, as well as directly to consumers.”
While the brewery is yet to find its brewing abode, an interesting collaboration has been forged. Moirae Brewing has partnered with Dixon-based Ruhstaller to bring some of their beers to market while the quest for a local brewing haven continues. The Grinnells are on the lookout for a freestanding retail space, ideally around 2,000 square feet, with their sights set on El Dorado Hills, Folsom, and Cameron Park.
Zach Grinnell, a certified cicerone and beer judge, brings a wealth of experience, having worked in retail management for Guitar Center and Apple Inc. His partner in brewing and life, Ariela Grinnell, adds a tech-savvy touch, having spent the last seven years at Cisco Systems Inc.
The future looks promising for Moirae Brewing as they envision not just a taproom but a family-friendly space deeply rooted in community engagement. “Sacramento has a really good beer community,” Zach Grinnell remarked. “We are happy to be here and be part of it.”
As the craft beer scene continues to bubble with new additions, including Boring Rose Brewing Co. in El Dorado Hills Town Center and Coatza Brewing Co. in Elk Grove, Moirae Brewing Co. aims to carve out its unique niche, blending innovation with a commitment to community spirit.
Stay tuned as El Dorado Hills eagerly awaits the clinking of glasses at Moirae Brewing Co.’s future taproom, set to materialize by late 2024.
