El Dorado County, CA – Wednesday, Dec 6, 2023

As the holiday season warms hearts across El Dorado County, the Food Bank of El Dorado County gears up for its annual Holiday Outreach Program on Saturday, December 16th. This heartfelt initiative, hosted at the Food Bank distribution facility, aims to provide holiday assistance to low-income individuals facing financial challenges.

Community Unity in Action: This year’s program is made possible through the generous sponsorship of the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians and Barsotti Family Juice Co. Their commitment to community welfare exemplifies the spirit of giving that defines the holiday season. Joining forces with local donors, these organizations play a pivotal role in ensuring that every family in need experiences the warmth of the season.

Delivering Joy to the Doorsteps: Acknowledging the challenges faced by homebound residents, the Tribal Fire Department and Tribal Police Department are collaborating with the Food Bank of El Dorado County. Together, they will spearhead the delivery efforts, ensuring that those unable to visit the distribution facility still receive the support they deserve. Homebound individuals are encouraged to send their requests via email to info@foodbankedc.org.

Ensuring a Smooth Experience: For eligible individuals planning to collect their holiday assistance, it’s crucial to adhere to the scheduled times at the Food Bank. Only one family pick-up is permitted per individual. To determine your designated time, match the first letter of your last name with the corresponding time slots outlined below:

  • A-I — December 16th from 9am to 11am
  • J-R — December 16th from 11am to 1pm
  • S-Z — December 16th from 1pm to 3pmNo pre-registration is required.

It’s a gesture that fosters a sense of belonging and support during the holiday season. For many, these packages symbolize more than just sustenance—they signify a community united in empathy and care.
