Georgetown, California (Dec 15 2023) – The Black Oak Mine Unified School District (BOMUSD) Board of Trustees unanimously appointed Dr. Gabe Simon as the new District Superintendent. Dr. Simon’s distinguished career spans various educational roles, reflecting a deep commitment to transformative leadership and instructional excellence. Expressing his anticipation for the new chapter, Dr. Simon states,

“I feel extremely fortunate to serve our incredible community’s students, families, staff, and Board of Trustees. I look forward to building strong partnerships throughout the district and working to ensure our students learn at high levels.”

Dr. Simon’s journey in education includes pivotal roles such as Superintendent/Principal, Assistant Superintendent of Personnel, and Adjunct Faculty at California State University, Sacramento (CSUS). He holds a Doctorate in Transformational Leadership from CSUS, complemented by a Master of Arts in Educational Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the same institution. He is dedicated to learning and professional growth for himself and with those he leads.
