AKT Investments Inc. has added a residential component to a planned high-profile retail development in El Dorado Hills.
An updated notice filed with El Dorado County Monday states the project known as EDH 52 on Silva Valley Parkway will now have 304 apartments alongside a Costco and other planned retail.
A message left with AKT Investments Monday was not returned. The Sacramento development company affiliated with Angelo K. Tsakopoulos is proposing changes for the 18-acre northern portion of the project.
According to the letter, that area would now have 304 apartments in five four-story buildings, with amenities such as a pool, gym and outdoor gathering spaces.
Those apartments would be alongside 14,000 square feet of neighborhood commercial uses, the letter states. Full plans of the new proposal were not yet available through the county’s website.
John Davey, chair of the El Dorado Hills Planning Advisory Committee, said in an email that the letter also requests a general plan amendment and rezone for the northern portion from general commercial, or big-box retail, to community commercial.
