The opening day, scheduled for January 24, 2024, from 3:15 pm to 6:30 pm, will witness the participating “decathletes” engaging in the Speech and Interview segments. As the foundation of this intellectual battleground, students will present their insights and thoughts on various topics, showcasing their eloquence and critical thinking skills. This is where volunteers play a pivotal role.

Organizers extend a warm invitation for individuals to step forward as volunteers to evaluate these presentations. Judge training commences at 3:15 pm, ensuring that volunteers are well-prepared for their crucial role. Snacks will be available throughout the competition, and a well-deserved pizza dinner will be served upon the conclusion of the day’s events.

Day 2 – January 27, 2024: A Day Packed with Knowledge and Culmination in the Super Quiz

The second day of the Academic Decathlon, set for January 27, 2024, will be an intense intellectual journey from 7:15 am to 4:00 pm. Students will be stationed in the Union Mine High School gym, armed with Chromebooks, ready to tackle the Objective Testing portion of the Decathlon.

To ensure the smooth flow of the event, volunteers are once again called upon. Two training sessions are scheduled at 7:30 am for the morning shift and 12:15 pm for the afternoon shift. Breakfast and lunch will be provided to fuel both the minds of the participants and the dedicated volunteers.

The grand finale, the Super Quiz, unfolds from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Union Mine Theater, followed by the eagerly anticipated awards ceremony. Proctors will be on hand during the Super Quiz to provide support and ensure a seamless experience for all involved.
