SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. (November 12, 2023) – In a celebration of community, physical activity, and the approaching Thanksgiving holiday, the City of South Lake Tahoe’s Parks and Recreation Department, in collaboration with the South Lake Tahoe Optimist Club, announces the eagerly anticipated Turkey Trot Fun Run. Scheduled for Saturday, November 18, this free and kid-friendly event invites children aged 2-10 to partake in a spirited run, emphasizing the importance of outdoor activity from a young age.
Director of Parks and Recreation, John Stark, expresses enthusiasm about the partnership with the Optimist Club, noting it as a fantastic avenue to introduce more kid-friendly activities to the community. The event aims to instill a love for physical activity in the youth, encouraging them to embrace outdoor adventures even in colder weather.
Registration for the Turkey Trot Fun Run opens at 9 a.m. on the day of the event and is also available in advance through a provided link. The collaborative effort between the city and the Optimist Club not only promotes a healthy lifestyle but also serves as a delightful kickoff to the Thanksgiving festivities.
