On Friday, September 8, California Poet Laureate Lee Herrick will be joined by El Dorado County Poets Laureate Emerita Taylor Graham and Lara Gularte, as well as 2023-2025 El Dorado County Poet Laureate Stephen Meadows at the Placerville Library for a celebration of poetry.
The poets will read from their works and Lee Herrick will engage with the audience during a Question-and-Answer session. The event, which is a partnership between Arts and Culture El Dorado and El Dorado County Library, will conclude with book signings by the poets.
Lee Herrick is the 10th California Poet Laureate, and the first Asian American to serve in the role. Born in Daejeon, Korea, Lee was adopted as an infant and now lives with his family in Fresno, California, where he served as Fresno Poet Laureate from 2015-2017.
