PLACERVILLE, Calif. Sept. 29 2023 – Renowned NASCAR Cup Series driver Kyle Larson is set to make a triumphant return to the Hangtown 100 on November 17-18, marking the exciting culmination of Placerville Speedway’s season. Larson’s previous appearance at the inaugural Hangtown 100 in 2019 resulted in a captivating victory in both the 100-lap feature race and the overall points, earning him a remarkable $32,000.
The 31-year-old racing prodigy has enjoyed yet another exceptional year, highlighted by his second career win at the esteemed Knoxville Nationals in Iowa. Larson has also secured victories this season at the illustrious Southern 500 held at Darlington Raceway, as well as the thrilling NASCAR All Star Race in North Wilkesboro. In addition, he has excelled on dirt tracks, triumphing at the Ironman 55 in Missouri, the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup in Pennsylvania, and the Brad Doty Classic at Attica Raceway, among other notable achievements.
Larson’s journey in motorsports traces back to 2007 when, at the tender age of 14, he competed in his first sprint car race at Placerville Speedway, clinching his inaugural triumph at the same venue that very season. Furthermore, the El Dorado County Fairgrounds-based facility witnessed Larson’s momentous clinching of the Golden State KWS-NARC Series title in 2010, solidifying his status as a standout talent from Elk Grove, California.
Both evenings in November will showcase the thrilling USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midget Championship, entertaining spectators with high-speed action. Additionally, the Wingless BCRA Lightning Sprints will add their own electrifying spectacle to the event.
